AFTER sheltering at home for the past two years, The Peninsula Manila invites guests to celebrate Easter Sunday April 17 with a variety of activities and experiences for the whole family, including splashing in the pool or classic holiday traditions such as Easter egg hunts. and special family meals. There’s the Conservatory Easter Egg Hunt where kids enjoy activities while filling their Easter baskets with eggs at The Peninsula Candyland Adventure and Egg Hunt. This year, they can choose one of two hunting sessions, with a morning session from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and another in the afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Craft decoration of lollipops; Paper mache bunny, bear and chick painting; Candy Jenga Corner; the ice cream stacking corner; a playground; and the Easter egg hunt. Only guests with the Easter Room Package or the Escolta Restaurant Easter Sunday Brunch Buffet will have free access to the Peninsula Candyland Adventure and Egg Hunt. Only one accompanying adult per child 10 years and under. Throughout the Easter weekend, April 14-16, young guests can try out Easter paint kits, have fun in the hotel’s bubble baths and outdoor pool, breakfast buffets, lunch at Escolta and a fun Easter experience at Peninsula Candyland Adventure and Egg Hunt on April 17, Easter Sunday, when their parents book the It’s Hip to Hop to The Peninsula this Easter room package. Rates start at P10,000 for a deluxe room (excluding tax) and include a buffet breakfast at Escolta for two adults and two children, an Easter painting welcome kit and a Candyland Adventure and Egg Peninsula passport Hunter. The dates of stay are April 14, 15 and 16. There is also an Easter Sunday brunch buffet in Escolta on April 17, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. (P4,300 for adults and P1,700 for children under 12). The buffet offers a variety of soups and mixed salads, fresh seafood, a variety of cheeses, pasta creations, carving station, breakfast specialties and a dessert buffet. Children under six get a Peninsula Candyland Adventure and Egg Hunt Passport (only one free pass for one adult and one child 10 and under enjoying Escolta’s Easter Sunday Brunch). Meanwhile, seafood lovers can congregate at Escolta and choose from a varied menu showcasing the bounty of the ocean on April 15-16, 6:30-10 p.m. (P3,500 for adults; P1,400 for children under 12). This Easter weekend the hotel will be offering afternoon tea in the Upper Lobby. Sample macaroons, chocolate cakes and French pastries, in addition to the usual suspects of Scottish smoked salmon sandwiches and warm scones. There will also be a live station with fresh pancakes and Filipino dishes merienda specialties such as bibingka and whore bumbong. EDSA SHANGRI-THE EASTER PARTY

Joy, music and laughter are part of the Easter celebration at Edsa Shangri-La’s La Casita Madrigal. Featuring an interactive mini-musical from Clowning Around and family-friendly activities, the celebration will take place on April 17, from 2-5 p.m. at the Isala Grand Ballroom. Registration begins at 1 p.m. with a price set at P2,500 net per person. The price includes access to all entertainment and activities, snacks and drinks. The Easter lunch buffet costs P2,950 nett and is available on 17 April from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. During this time, an Easter afternoon tea service is available daily at P1,450 nett from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. throughout the month of April. CELEBRATE EASTER AT RWM

EASTER is celebrated at Resorts World Manila (RWM) through hotel offerings and dining offerings. International hotel brands, Marriott Hotel Manila and Sheraton Manila Hotel, are offering Easter room packages that include one night in a Deluxe Room with breakfast for two plus additional dining credits. At the Holiday Inn Express Manila-Newport City, one night in a Superior Room with Breakfast for Two includes complimentary Easter Carrot Cake for rates from P5,246 nett through April 13. Kids can enjoy the Marriott Cafe’s Easter Holiday Buffet with Egg Hunt and Dessert Table for P3,188 nett on April 16-17. The Madison Lounge & Bar at the Hilton Manila offers Easter egg kits, carrot cake and hot rolls in a special Easter package that also includes lamb chops and 11-spice spring chicken. Enjoy a family feast at Casa Buenas with the Seafood Fiesta tenderloin for P1,999 which includes octopus and coconut kilawin, prawns al ajilo, salmon roasted in a wood oven with adlai and mixed vegetables, and oyster cooked in garlic. The Seafood Fiesta menu is available every Friday through April 30 at Casa Buenas, GF Newport Grand Wing. At the Garden Wing Cafe, a more conventional seafood preparation is in the spotlight. Seafood binalot is a combination of garlic prawns, pickled mussels and grilled salmon inasal above align rice wrapped in a banana leaf which is served with atchara and salted egg in salad. Seafood binalot is available for P688 net, every Friday until April 30. The Garden Wing Cafe is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the GF Newport Garden Wing. Newport Grand Wing’s Silk Road and Newport Garden Wing’s Victoria Harbor Cafe (VHC) offer abalone dishes. VHC offers classic preparations like Abalone Fried Rice for P880 Tenderloin and Abalone and Double Boiled Chicken Soup for P608 Tenderloin. Silk Road offers various Asian preparations, such as Thai Abalone Salad for P720 Tenderloin, Chicken Biryani with Abalone for P840 Tenderloin, and Abalone in Curry Sauce with Rice and Egg for P740 Tenderloin.
