The pop-up art shop launched by Hank Spirek as a collective showcase for local artists is closing “with a bang”. From April 10 to April 17, the exhibition space at the Summer Center mall will host exhibitions and demonstrations – with some selected works being sold at reduced prices – before closing permanently on April 25. Since opening in November, the shop has sold over 100 works – with a total value of $20,000. “I would like to thank Paul Saunders, the owner of the Summer Street shopping complex, for the free use of the space. I would also like to thank the public for their enthusiastic support. Members of the Orange Society, Orange Camera Club and Art From The Heart for their artwork and hosting the exhibition,” said Mr. Spirek. Dave Mason will participate in the first pop-up gallery demo on April 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by Glen Southwell April 11, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Jodie Geach April 12, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; Katie Huang April 12, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Wanda Driscoll, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. April 12; Kaye Partridge, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. April 13; Maggie Rosso from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on April 13; The Orange Camera Club from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on April 14; Denis Bradley from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on April 15; The Orange Camera Club from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on April 16 and April 17 – Anne Ind from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Kay Gorringe from 1 to 3 p.m. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our journalists work hard to provide local and up-to-date news to the community.
