De-Luxy Boxing League: Decardi-Nelson Wins National Bantamweight Title

Michael Decardi-Nelson turned on the style last Saturday with an impressive display to defeat the experienced Raymond Commey with a unanimous points decision to win the national bantamweight title at Bukom Boxing Arena.

The highlight of the De-Luxy Professional Boxing League’s Fight Night 12, the 12 round provided plenty of thrills for the crowd which included members of the business and diplomatic communities, as used by the young Decardi-Nelson from Akotoku Academy. his art of the upper ring and the speed of his hands to subdue his stubborn opponent who refused to come down despite the blows.

The fight witnessed some impressive performances, especially from John Zile who was too strong for Hope Mawuli whom he stopped with a second-round knockout in their bantamweight clash. With the win, Zile improved his ring record to five wins in as many fights.

In other fights, Eric Quarm recorded a fifth-round technical knockout victory over Michael Tetteh in an eight-round super featherweight contest, with referee Erasmus Owoo stopping the fight 56 ​​seconds into the fifth round after Tetteh’s corner threw in the towel.

Attoh Quarshie Gym’s Akimous Annan Ampiah Tagoe beat Sea View Gym’s Vandorf Ocran on points to win the six-round super bantamweight contest, Joseph Akai Nettey stopped Michael Antwi with a fourth-round technical knockout when they met flyweights.

Azumah Mohammed of Sonia Gym defeated Samuel Quaye of The Gym (58-57, 58-57, 59-56) in a super lightweight clash, with Michael Abban of Black Panthers Gym beating Michael Tagoe of Seconds Out Gym with a unanimous verdict of points (60-54, 60-54, 50-54).

After 12 weeks, Fit Square Gym led the league standings with 28 points, followed closely by Sonia Gym and CQB Foundation, both with 27 points.

Wisdom Gym are bottom of the 12-team standings with just three points.
