INSIDE—Baby Bounce & Rhyme: February Session | Wednesdays 2, 9, 16 and 23 February at
9:15 a.m.: Bond with your baby during this program featuring nursery rhymes, books, movement
and finger play, followed by sensory exploration. Location: library room. For babies up to 18 years old
month. Registration required. Limited to 5 families.
INSIDE—Read, Sing, Play Storytime for Toddlers | Thursdays February 3, 10 & 17 at 10:30 a.m.

Let us help you with your technical questions: computers and mobile devices, downloading electronic content
library catalog, using Google Drive and social media platforms! Bring your device and
visit a technical support session to get started! Appointments are also available, please give

INSIDE—Sensory Play: Cooking | Friday, February 4 at 10:30 a.m.: Join us on the first Friday of
each month for a special program for toddlers. Each child will receive a bin filled with a variety
of different textures to sort and practice matching colors, letters or concepts. Please
wear clothes that can get messy. Location: library room. For children from 18 months to 3 years old. Registration
obligatory. Limited to 5 families.
ONLINE—Library Board Meeting | Tuesday, February 8 at 6:30 p.m.: The library council is constituted
community members who volunteer their time and skills to advance the library’s mission. All
meetings are open and the public is welcome to attend.
INSIDE—Craft Extravaganza | Saturday February 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.: Drop-in for a pleasure
DIY afternoon. We will have several stations set up in the library lobby for you to create stunning
(and easy) winter and Valentine’s Day themed DIY. Make a gift to give or something for
yourself. We provide the supplies – you provide the creativity! Location: library room. For adults.
INSIDE—Elementary School Book Club | Sunday February 13 at 2:30 p.m.: This month we are
read Wings of Fire: A Graphic Novel by Tui Sutherland. Every month we will read a book or
graphic novel, then meet to discuss the book and do an activity. Pick up your
copy of the book at the curb. Location: library room. For children from 3rd to 5th grade. Registration required.
Limited to 10 children.
ONLINE + INSIDE—Harriet Tubman: Fact or Fiction | Tuesday, February 22 at 2:00 p.m.:
Harriet Tubman, known as the “Moses of her people”, was a famous abolitionist, Civil War spy,
suffragist and humanitarian. Join Kimberly Szewczyk from the Harriet Tubman National Historical
Park in Auburn, NY as she shares what we actually know about Harriet Tubman versus the myth

reading from Central New York Reads One Book 2022, The Mrs. Christie Mystery of Mary
Benedict. Join us online or inside to discuss this month’s book. Books are available at the front

ONLINE—History of Hot Chocolate | Monday, February 28 at 6:30 p.m.: Who doesn’t like a cup
hot chocolate on a cold winter day? Join Maya Rook of Illusory Time to explore the origins of
hot chocolate and have the chance to make yourself a cup! In this online session, you will learn
not only how to make hot chocolate at home, but also where does this drink come from and how
it has evolved over time. Participants will be able to collect their hot chocolate making equipment
of the library from February 21. Location: Expand. For adults. Registration requested.

INSIDE—Books, Balls and Blocks: Early Literacy Tips for Families | Tuesday, February 22 at 10:30 a.m.
AM: The pandemic is affecting children at a critical time and has a direct impact on their
social emotional development. Both adults and children will explore several different resorts with ease
home play ideas that help your child’s early literacy skills and emotional and social health.
Free tote bags filled with activities during the event are available for attendees. This program
is brought to you by Help me Grow Onondaga. Location: library room. For babies, toddlers and
preschool children. Registration required. Limit of 10 families.
INSIDE—LEGO Games: Can You Build It? | Wednesday February 23 at 11 a.m.: Our draw
spinner will tell us what we need to build and how long we have to build it. This program is
designed to inspire creativity and problem-solving skills. Location: library room. For kindergarten children
– 2. Compulsory registration. Limit 6.
INSIDE—Family Storytime | Thursday, February 24 at 10:30 a.m.: Our traditional storytime format
is modified to include children up to 1st grade so the whole family can join us for books, songs,

Join librarians Mary Beth and Andrea for a fun family trivia night! Register as a family/team of

ONLINE—Writing Workshop with Ellen Potter| Friday, February 25 at 11 a.m.: This writing
The workshop for readers and writers is led by local author Ellen Potter. When inspiration strikes, Ms.
Potter will teach children how to turn their ideas into stories. Participants will receive a write prompt
and the opportunity to share their writings with the group. Location: Expand. For children from 3rd to 5th grade.
