Online concerts and festivals to be broadcast in 2022


The live music industry is still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, and while we hope to return to the same rigor of concerts, festivals and live performances in the pre-pandemic era, the music scene online has grown quite dramatically. The move to a virtual space has most likely unlocked a new culture of live music that predates the one before the pandemic.

Since performing artists and concert producers changed their online craft in 2020, the world has seen a wave of virtual shows from BTS, Dua Lipa, NCT, Justin Bieber, NIKI, Joji, and even concerts staged in video games – such as the Fortnite X Ariana Grande Rift Tour concert – over the past two years.

2021 has seen a plethora of live concerts, shows and festivals in various online and hybrid formats. In the meantime, as live music returns slowly (but surely, as we hope), here are the virtual shows you can experience in 2022:

ASEAN artists Dila with the stars from Brunei, KESODORRR from Cambodia, Barasuara from Indonesia, Taiy Akard from Lao PDR, sophie liana From Malaysia, Wai La from Myanmar, group of Filipino boys SB19, Singaporean singer-songwriter lining, Two Popethorn from Thailand and Ms. Anh of Vietnam are set to happen, accompanied by South Korean acts Jambinai, ADOY, Sam Kim, Peppertones, and Lucy.

Calling all anime lovers! The virtual festival is expected to feature themed songs from popular animated series, including NARUTO: Shippuden, Haikyu !!, Tokyo Ghoul, My Hero Academia and more. 14 artists from Sony Music, including Love, Sayuri, TMRevolution, FLOW, and others will perform their personally selected anime songs at the festival.

kpop group SF9 will host a 3-day hybrid concert from January 21 to January 23, where the last show on January 23 will be broadcast live for fans unable to attend the concert in person. With songs from their discography, including their latest album, ‘Rumination‘fans can look forward to a rocky night onscreen.
